Vitamix CIA Professional Series Review (98/100)
Vitamix CIA (Culinary Institute of America) has been holding the title of one of the best blender available on the market for years now. Manufacturers have been unable to top this incredible machine. Owning a Vitamix in your kitchen is very similar to owning an exotic sports car. It’s not for everyone’s budget, but if you are able to afford it you are getting pure performance and joy from using this unique kitchen appliance. Do you enjoy making smoothies? This particular Vitamix is one of the best blender for smoothies one can buy. Where competition will leave pieces of ingredients and ice, Vitamix will blend them both to an incredible consistency needed to make a perfect smoothie.
Vitamix is so confident in their product, they offer a 7-year warranty on their blender. Why is that important? The electric motor will be put through quite a bit of stress, having to blend things like ice and frozen fruit. Where most manufacturers only provide 2-3 years of warranty, Vitamix giving 7 really proves how heavy duty the Vitamix CIA is. Blendtec Professional’s Choice Total Review (94/100)
Its no surprise to see this iconic blender take our number two highest rated blender slot. Blendtec Total Blender for long time has been trying to overthrow Vitamix from their number one spot. The Blendtec is an excellent blender for those seeing a very high quality blender, and would like to save around $150 from buying the Vitamix CIA blender. A very simple to use 1,560 watt blender with stainless steel blades that spin near 30,000 rpm that get amazing blending consistency of whichever object is in the blending jar.
You may have seen Blendtec’s “Will it Blend” YouTube show, if you haven’t definitely check it out to see the true power of this amazing appliance. On the show they test the strength, durability, and power of the blender by attempting to blend items that a normal person would not put in a blender. Anything from marbles, diamonds, phones, golf balls and just about anything they can get their hands on. Every time you doubt that the blender can handle it, it flawlessly makes a smoothie out of the items put into it without thinking twice.
Waring Pro MX1000R Professional (88/100)
Waring Pro MX1000R blender is a great choice for those seeing a simple, well priced, and exceptionally well performing blender. Waring is not a well known brand as Vitamix and Blendtec, but that doesn’t stop them from creating a blender that some rave about. The MX1000R is your standard 64 ounce blender with a polycarbonate pitcher, which is basically military strength plastic, used in windshields in aircraft.
Waring MX1000R has very simple controls of just two switches. One for changing from high and low speeds, and another for a pulse function. Most enjoy the simplicity of the blender, others wish there were more features. The 3.5 hp motor that will turn the blending blades to the speeds over 30,000 does not discriminate of what is being blended. For a blender around the $300 zone, the MX1000R is a good choice for those seeing a high quality blender without the price tag of Vitamix or Blendtec blenders.
Breville is well known from creating some of the top juicer machines that one can buy. Their expertise also reaches into the world of blenders. My favorite feature of this blender is the hemispherical shape of the bottom of the jug. Look closely at the picture, you can see how all the ingredients would be forced into the shape. The benefit? The blades take up that small area entirely, meaning no wasted or unblended chunks will be left after you’re done blending.
Breville BBL605XL has all necessary features one might need. A powerful 750 watt motor, 48 ounce pitcher. The buttons light up for easier reading. Dedicated smoothie and ice crushing buttons. Pulse function. The BBL605XL was rated as the best blender in 2012, and will definitely take a high rating in 2013 and forward. Operating the BB605XL can easily be expressed in the following; simplicity and functionality. Continue to read our review and see what other features the Breville BBL605XL would bring into your kitchen.

Ninja BL660 Professional (82/100)
Ninja may not be the most popular or most well known brand, but that doesn’t stop them from making some really amazing kitchen blenders with great value. When buying a blender one must always ask themselves if they will be needing a full size kitchen blender, or maybe a personal blender for whipping up some quick smoothies. The feature that makes the BL660 stand out over others, is its ability to do both! With a purchase of the blender you also receive a single serving attachment that replaces the full size 72 ounce jug. Which is perfect if all you want at the moment is a personal smoothie or a shake.
The BL660 will set you back around $150, which is fairly inexpensive when compared to the big players like Vitamix, Breville and Blendtec. But you don’t really lose out on any important features. You still get 1,000 watts of power, variable and pulse speeds. Not to mention the 72 ounce jar that is larger than majority of blenders that max out at 64 ounces. Beverages for Cooling Off
As the name implies, a blender is commonly used to mix ingredients together. So what better way is there to cool off on a hot summer day, liven up a party, or reward yourself for some hard work than by making some refreshing drinks?
For instance, one can just combine ice cream and milk to make a thick, creamy milkshake. One can also mix fruits, yogurt, crushed ice, and some milk to make a fresh, healthy smoothie, with some popular fruit choices for smoothies being bananas, peaches, and strawberries. Like smoothies, slushies can be made with a blender as well – all that needs to be done is to put juice in ice cubes, and then to mix the ice cubes with juice. Frappes can also be made by blending instant coffee, ice, and whipped cream. Lastly, adults can have a good time by making homemade frozen margaritas or cocktails.
With regard to food, blenders are most popularly used for pureeing; that is, for blending and/or pressing food to a thick, liquid paste-like consistency. Thus, these kitchen tools can be used to turn fruits, vegetables, and even entire meals into baby food, as well as food for those unable to chew properly. Tomatoes can also be pureed to make homemade tomato sauce. Some have even pureed certain foodstuffs into pet food!
Pureeing isn’t the only process that can be done with this handy appliance, though. One can also use these to crush ice cubes, to grind coffee beans and spices, to chop nuts, to make whipped cream, to beat egg whites until their texture becomes fluffy, and to crush crackers into crumbs for pastries.
Indeed, this kitchen appliances is a miracle worker.
Soups, Salads, Salsas, Spreads, etc.
Blenders are, naturally, perfect for blending and smoothing thick liquid or liquid-like substances, some examples being pancake batter, cream pie fillings, custards, gravy, mayonnaise, and puddings. It thus follows that these gadgets can also be used to blend soups, especially if one wishes to make soup with a rich, creamy consistency.
These aside, one can also make salad dressings, salsas, sauces, and dips from scratch by using this gadget. Food processors are usually used for this purpose; however, a blender can also be a good alternative. For one, by combining olive oil, vinegar, and mustard, one can already make a simple salad dressing, as oil and vinegar quickly emulsify when blended. Salsas and guacamoles are also simply created by mixing tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, and other ingredients for that authentic Mexican blend.
Furthermore, some examples of sauces, dips, and spreads that can be made at home with this efficient appliance are pesto, herb cream cheese spread, hummus, and peanut butter. The first can be made by combining fresh basil and olive oil. The second calls for herbs such as basil, cream cheese, and garlic, among others. The third example involves mixing chickpeas, water, garlic, sesame seeds, lemon juice, cumin, paprika, chipolte, and salt. The last one involves mixing peanuts and sugar. As it is with salad dressings and salsas, the only thing to do in these four examples would be to blend the ingredients – unbelievably enough, it’s that easy!
Now, who says that it’s necessary to go to the grocery to buy salad dressings, sauces, dips, and spreads when one can have fun making them in the comfort of his or her home?
A Number of Personal Benefits
Perhaps the most significant advantage of creating blended, homemade food and beverages from scratch is that these homemade products tend to be healthier than their mass-produced, store-bought counterparts. This is because when making homemade products, the homemaker is in control – he or she can carefully select fresh, quality ingredients, as well as healthier alternatives to certain ingredients.
For instance, smoothies blended at home need not be made with as much sugar and flavoring syrups than commercially made ones. Homemade smoothies are also said to contain more fiber and other nutrients than those sold commercially.
Moreover, the homemaker is also in control when it comes to making foods and beverages in that he or she can customize recipes to suit different palates. Perhaps one might prefer peanut butter with less sugar, or one’s child may want a milkshake with more cocoa than the usual. A more health-conscious person might even want an extra dose of certain nutritional supplements, such as whey protein. Since these homemade products are not mass-produced, they can be tailor-made to cater to these different personal preferences.
In short, it’s not a stretch to say that owning a blender can improve the nutritional value and quality of one’s food.
Boundless Possibilities, Boundless Fun
